I finally called the doctor's office over the weekend and got advice to increase poor David's Keppra. He has had seizures about every two days since he left the hospital in early June. Except for two weeks on Ativan, but we can't overuse it or it won't be any good in the hospital for when they need to administer it. Too bad because it works better than anything David has ever taken. Which is why we pursuing brain surgery. I'm so ready to be DONE! Done with medical stuff, done with epilepsy, done!
Anyway, increasing his dose of Keppra seems to be working well, and so far no side effects. It can have a very depressing effect so please pray for him to be ok these last two weeks till surgery.

Archive 6/14 We just increased David's Keppra a lot to try to stop all the seizures he has been having since he finished the last hospital stay.
David enjoyed a week of beach camping, then a week at a camp called Wheatstone Academy. During Wheatstone he had two bad seizures but otherwise made it through and loved it.

On Friday June 5 David finished 19 days in the hospital for invasive testing with seizures to pinpoint the source of his epilepsy. It has moved him closer to the step of surgery for healing his epilepsy.
Since coming home we don't want seizures, but he has had them more frequently than before.
He has a brain function test called the Wada on July 22. It requires a day in the hospital to catheterize his femoral artery, do an angiogram, then anesthetize half the brain to test speech and memory, then allow the artery to heal afterward.
We expect him to go back for one last invasive hospital stay which will hopefully end with surgery. This is scheduled to begin July 29.
